So sánh là một dạng bài dễ gặp trong đề thi TOEIC. Dưới đây là các dạng so sánh trong tiếng Anh để giúp các bạn nắm chắc kiến thức và tự tin khi gặp dạng bài này trong quá trifng luyện thi TOEIC.
Trong tiếng Anh có 3 dạng so sánh: so sánh bằng, so sán không bằng và so sánh nhất.
1. So sánh bằng (Equal comparisons)
Cấu trúc: S1 + verb + as + adj/adv + as + S2
Eg: - He is as tall as his brother.
- I sing as well as my sister.
- Is the film as interesting as you expected?
Ngoài ra có thể sử dụng cấu trúc S + verbs + the same + (Noun) + as + S2 với nghĩa tương tự:
Eg: My father is as old as my mother = My father and my mother is the same age.

2. So sánh không bằng (Unequal comparisons)
a. So sánh hơn/kém
                                      short adj/adv_er
Cấu trúc: S1 + verb + more + long adj/adv   + than + S2
                                      less + adj/adv
Eg: - Today is colder than yesterday.
      - He speaks Spanish more fluently than I do.
b. So sánh kép (Double comparatives)
So sánh kép mang ý nghĩa càng... càng/ ngày càng.
Cấu trúc:
the + comparative + S1 + verb + the comparative + S2 + vẻb
eg: The hotter it is, the more miserable I fell.
the more + S1 + verb + the comparative + S2 + verb
Eg: The more you study, the smarter you will be come.
short adj/adv_er + and + adj/adv_er
Eg: This lady is younger and younger.
more and more + long adj/adv
Eg: She becomes more and more beatiful.

3. So sánh nhất (Superlatives)
                                                   short adj/adv_est
Cấu trúc: S + verb + the +    most + long adj/adv + (noun) + in/of + noun
                                                  least + long adj/adv
Eg: - John is the tallest boy in the family.
      - Deana is the shortest of the three sisters.
     - These shoes are the least expensive of all.
     - Of the three shirts, this one is the prettiest.

Các tính từ, trạng từ bất quy tắc ở dạng so sánh:
bad/badly – worse – worst
good/well – better – best
far – farther/further – farthest/furthest
late – later – latest (về thời gian) / last (về thứ tự)
little – less – least
near – nearer – nearest (về khoảng cách) / next (về thứ tự)
many – more – most
old – older – oldest (về tuổi tác)
         elder – eldest (về cấp bậc)
