1. Function of an adjective
  • Modifying a noun: (a difficult decision)
  • Modifying a subject or and object ( the service is very good)
 
2. Function of an adverb
  • Modifying a verb: They highly recommend the product
  • Modifying an adjective: That was a very creative idea
  • Modifying another adv: all of the employees worked very hard
  • Modifying the whole sentence: Unfortunately, the tickets are sold out
